maker culture
I describe myself as full-stack geospatial information (GIS) research developer and tech lover. I am experienced in different geospatial fields such as geoprocessing, interoperability, sensors or web mapping. However, the most important field and where I feel very passionate is the maker culture and more concretely the open hardware and sensor devices. I received my Ph.D. in Integration of Geospatial Information from the Jaume I University in 2015. I had the opportunity to work four months as a researcher in the Digital Earth and Reference Data Unit of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC). Currently, I am a postdoc researcher at the GEOTEC group. At the same time, I am an enthusiast of my village (Vilafamés) - on the official list of World's Most Beautiful Towns - where I try to improve it from my position as a councilman, applying all my experience and willpower.

Experience

Postdoc reseacher
GEOTEC Research Group, Universitat Jaume I
July 2015 — Present

Contributing to the shaping of the GEOTEC Research Group as a postdoc; - Working in EU-funded European Joint Doctorate “Geoinformatics: Enabling Open Cities” (GEO-C). It aims to contribute methods and tools to realise smart and open cities, in which all groups of society can participate on all levels and benefit in many ways. The strands of research in GEO-C (deep participation, analysis & fusion, services) will lead to an improved understanding of how to build open cities and will produce a prototypical open city toolkit.

Visiting Scientist,
Joint Research Center, European comission, Ispra, Lombardia, Italy
Setember 2014 — December 2014

During my stay in JRC, I had the opportunity to design a methodology to analyze huge amount of sensor data in realtime, using new approaches to connect with more eficiency and more quickly. This work was included in a local project called BD4Env - BigData for Environment.

PHd student,
GEOTEC Research Group, Universitat Jaume I
April 2012 — July 2015

Working in several european (Eurogeoss) and national (España Virtual) projects where the result was part of my doctoral thesis. Authoring and co-authoring scientific publications. Supporting teaching activities.

Researcher,
