BIOGRAFÍA BREVE

BIOGRAFÍA BREU

Born in 1959 in Xátiva, province of Valencia (Spain). Industrial Engineering by Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in 1985, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering by the same university in 1989. He started as Engineering Graphics’ assistant professor at UPV in 1985, where he was professor from 1990 up to 1994. He joined Jaume I University (UJI) in 1994. Since 1996 he is Engineering Graphics’ Full professor ("catedrático") at UJI, as well as Head of Technology Department from 1995 up to 2005.

 

He teaches Engineering Graphics’ mainly in Industrial Engineering, but also in Chemical, Industrial Design, Agriculture and Telecommunications Engineerings. He has authored some textbooks on "Geometrical Design", "Standardized drawings" and “Industrial drawings”.

 

His research fields of interest are centered on Technical Drawings, Computer Aided Design, Computer Graphics and Sketch-Based Modeling; with more than 30 papers and communications published on those areas. Now he is taking part in the development and applicability of a new sketch-based modeling interface (see REGEO). He is involved too in Emotional Design and Collaborative Product Engineering.

 

Nacido en 1959 en Xátiva, provincia de Valencia (España). Ingeniero Industrial por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) en 1985, y doctorado en Ingeniería Mecánica, por la misma universidad en 1989. Ingresó como profesor encargado de curso de Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería en la UPV en 1985, donde fue profesor titular desde 1990 a 1994. Se trasladó en 1994 a la Universitat Jaume I (UJI). Desde 1996 es catedrático de Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería en la UJI, donde también ha sido Director del Departamento de Tecnología desde 1995 hasta 2005.

 

Imparte docencia de Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería principalmente en Ingeniería Industrial, pero también en Ingeniería Química, en Ingeniería Técnica en Diseño Industrial, en Ingeniería Técnica Agrícola e Ingeniería de Telecomunicaciones. Es autor de libros de texto de “Diseño geométrico”, “Dibujo normalizado” y “Dibujo industrial”.

 

Sus áreas de interés en investigación se centran en el dibujo técnico, diseño asistido por computador, los gráficos por computador y el modelado basado en bocetos; teniendo publicados más de 30 artículos y comunicaciones de investigaciones relacionadas con dichas áreas. En la actualidad participa en el desarrollo y aplicación de una nueva interface para modelado basado en bocetos (ver REGEO). Está interesado también en el Diseño emocional y la Ingeniería de Producto Colaborativa.

 

Nascut en 1959 en Xàtiva, província de València (Espanya). Enginyer Industrial per la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) des de 1985, i doctorat en Enginyeria Mecànica, per la mateixa universitat en 1989. Va ingressar com professor encarregat de curs d'Expressió Gràfica en l'Enginyeria en la UPV en 1985, on va ser professor titular des de 1990 a 1994. Es va traslladar en 1994 a la Universitat Jaume I (UJI). Des de 1996 és catedràtic d'Expressió Gràfica en l'Enginyeria en la UJI, on també a sigut director del Departament de Tecnologia des de 1995 fins a 2005.

 

Imparteix docència d'Expressió Gràfica en l'Enginyeria principalment en Enginyeria Industrial, però també en Enginyeria Química, en Enginyeria Tècnica en Disseny Industrial, en Enginyeria Tècnica Agrícola i Enginyeria de Telecomunicacions. Es autor de textos universitaris de "Disseny geomètric", "Dibuix normalitzat" i “Dibuix industrial”.

 

Les seues àrees d’interès en investigació se centren en el dibuix tècnic, disseny assistit per computador, els gràfics per computador i el modelatge basat en esbossos, tenint publicats més de 30 articles i comunicacions d'investigacions relacionades amb dites àrees. En l'actualitat pren part en el desenvolupament i aplicació de una nova interfície per al modelatge basat en esbossos (veure REGEO). També està interessat en el Disseny Emocional i la Enginyeria de Producte Col·laborativa.
