This course is an introduction to the translation of legal texts. Students will learn the fundamental principles of legal translation and develop a professional methodology for translating specialized texts as sworn translators. Course materials comprise mainly certificates for academic activities and vital records.

5. A comparative study of legal systems
   5.1. The educational system in the English-speaking and Catalan-speaking countries
   5.2. The Anglo-Saxon and continental legal systems
   5.3. The branches of law
   5.4. Basic institutions in Civil Law
6. Fundamentals of legal genres
   6.1. Identification and characterization of legal texts
   6.2. Contrastive analysis of legal and administrative genres
