AREIN Workshop

In conjunction with I-ESA 2007

March 26th, 2007 Funchal (Madeira Island), Portugal

Workshop Title ARchitectures for Enterprise INteroperability (AREIN)
Goal of the Workshop Enterprise interoperability can be defined as the ability of different enterprises to interact with each other, on all layers of the enterprises (business plan, strategy, process, computer systems, etc.).

However, carrying out the master planning project and implementating an Enterprise Interoperability Project is an extremely complex process which involves different technological, human and organisational elements. In order to reduce the level of complexity and make the development of this kind of project easier, it is necessary to establish a step-by-step development methodology and to formalise the creative process in each phase of the whole project.

In this context, the objective of this workshop is to show the different advances that have been achieved in relation to Reference Architectures, Methodologies, Methods, Models, and Tools to support Enterprise Interoperability Projects.
Topics of the Workshop Relevant topics for submission to AREIN include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Reference Architectures, Methodologies and Tools to support Enterprise Interoperability Projects.
  • Reference Models for Enterprise Interoperability.
  • Model-Driven approaches to support Architectures for Enterprise Interoperability.
  • Interoperability Project Management.
  • Profitability and business justification of Enterprise Interoperability.
  • Human resources and change management.
  • Case Study of relevant methods and tools in the industry, especially SMEs.
Duration Full day
Target Audience The workshop is aimed at a broad audience of PhDs, researchers, and industry professionals interested in the area of reference architectures for enterprises, with a special emphasis on enterprise interoperability problems.
Industry Relevance Yes
